A scouting trip built around your situation, not a calendar
Your family, your dates, your questions. We design the route around where your work could go, where your children would be at school, and which regions actually deserve your time — then travel it with you.
Who this is for
-
Your circumstances are specific enough that a set itinerary would waste days.
-
You're working to a narrow window and need it to count.
-
You want introductions to people already living there.
-
You'd rather talk things through with one person who knows your file.
If meeting others in the same position is part of why you're going, the group trip is the better trip and the better value.
How a private trip comes together
A conversation
We start by talking about your family, your work and the life you want in New Zealand. That information will be the base we use to build a scouting trip that counts.
A proposal
Within 7 days you’ll have a clear, itemized proposal showing where you’ll go, who you’ll meet and why each stop matters. You’ll know exactly what you’re investing in before you commit.
Confirmation
We refine the plan together, then handle every booking. From here the logistics are ours, and your only job is to picture life in Aotearoa.
On the ground
This isn't sightseeing: you'll see how daily life really works and get honest answers from people who live it. If plans change, our local team adjusts in real time so you never lose a day.
After
You'll leave with a real answer and the confidence of having seen it for yourself. If it's yes, our partners, including As the Kiwi Flys for your rental search, take it from there, so your move starts with people you already trust.
Shapes a private trip can take
No two trips are identical. Here are three ways a private trip often takes shape, as starting points for your own.
The two-region comparison
14 days · couple
Torn between two regions? Spend a week in each and run the same tests in both: a weekday commute, a grocery run, a rental viewing and coffee with locals who made the move. You'll compare real days, not listings.
The family trip
9 days · family of four
Built around your children's future: school visits, sport and activity options, and healthcare logistics. You'll judge each neighborhood by what your child's day would actually look like.
The business relocation
10 days · founder or executive
Built around your work: meetings with advisers, accountants and recruiters, a look at commercial property, and a read on the hiring market before you commit.

Who's in your corner
You won't be relying on one person's opinion. Every private trip draws on partners who live and work in New Zealand, and every introduction is arranged before you land.
Relocation Guide
Visa direction, an NZ-ready job hunt, and the move itself — with
Tara coaching your family until you land. She moved her family of six from the USA to New Zealand in 2013, and she's walked hundreds of American families through it since.
Rental partner
Resources, practical advice and emotional support for families moving to and living in New Zealand.
We help families secure a rental home in Auckland and Upper North Island before they arrive, so they can land and settle straight into life.
"I've guided in every corner of New Zealand, but this tour we've built shows more of the Real Aotearoa than any other tour I've been on! "
